Our new 3D laser "printer" (using CNC technology) is the Glowforge Pro. It is an $8000.00 Class 4 printer capable of cutting or engraving in a variety of materials such as wood, leather, paper, plastic, acrylic, fabric, cork, Mylar, cardboard, rubber and more! It can engrave only on glass, marble, ceramic tile, aluminum, stone, titanium, rubber stamps and more!
It has a pass through allowing you to use long materials. Materials can be up to 20" wide by infinity! The Glowforge can use a variety of formats of images as well as a tracing mode which scans material with drawing on it. There is also a feature for 3D engraving using Heightmap, a program you create your image in and the engraving will have greater depth and detail.
We expect our printer to be delivered by early March and the filter to arrive mid summer. We were able to take advantage of their pre order program to save almost $2,000 off its current price.
Purchase of this exciting tool was made possible through our Community Growth Initiative grant award, funded by Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation and facilitated by the Minnesota State University Business Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
