From the Workbench

We have met some incredible makers at our Meetups these past few months...both “on stage” and off. This continues to be the most inspiring part of what we do...learning what you make, how you make it and simply...getting to know you!

(Daniel Halvorson, 3D printing presentation, March 2017)

Connecting and uniting local crafters and artisans into a “makers community” is one step we as the Minnesota Makers & Artists Guild have taken towards our ultimate goal of creating a community makerspace in Mankato.

What else have we done?

  • Filed our articles of incorporation with the state

  • Submitted our application to the IRS to become a non-profit organization

  • Offered classes through Mankato Community Ed & Rec (CER)

  • Participated in the ReSkilling Festival with CER and Transition Mankato

And now we have kicked off a Tool & Equipment Drive!

We have received quite a number of pledges for tools and equipment, but have had nowhere to store them...until now! Last weekend we collected a trailer full of supplies that will be utilized once we secure a building. And we have more donations to pick up!

If you have useable, yet unused tools, equipment or supplies that you would like to donate, contact us today!

(donation receipts available. If estimated value is $5,000+ an appraisal is necessary for tax purposes.

We currently operate with Region 9 as our fiscal sponsor for cash donations.)

Would you like to volunteer?

As we gain momentum there are more projects popping up and we could use your help!

We have volunteer opportunities in areas such as: Events, Marketing and Operations.

Would you like to share what you do? You can teach a class or present at a meetup!

Contact me for details today!

Thank you for supporting our project and we'll see you at the meetup!
