About the event
Needle felting is a fun and simple craft that uses wool to create beautiful designs. You can use this technique to mend, embellish, and sculpt! In this class, we will needle felt bracelets while learning about wool and the sheep that produce it! All materials will be provided.
These classes are geared toward ages 6-12. older kids are wellcome as well.
You can drop off the kiddos , while you go run errands or take a "parent break" (classes are 2 hours) Â You can also stay if you wish to help your youngsters if you feel they might need it. If you wish to do your own little project along with them we ask that you purchase an additional ticket when you arrive to help cover those extra materials cost.
This programing is being partly funded by Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council to help make these classes as affordable as possible. We have 6 tickets set at $15 and then an additional 4 tickets that are Free scholarship, because everyone could use a helping hand from time to time, so don't worry about it, we got you.
About the Instructor:
Frances Kelliher is a fiber artist based in Mankato. She has taught sewing summer camps and workshops and has also been a teaching assistant at the Textile Center in Minneapolis. Frances is a farmer and shepherd and is excited to share her love of wool and land stewardship with students!
