Little bit more info about Pegeen: when asked about her leather career
"I have been working leather since 1989. I took classes at Tandy Leather from local staff as well as individual instruction from masters Peter Main, Rob Barr, Tony Lair, Jim Linnell and others. In 1998 I purchased the Lindale Ave. Tandy (just as they closed) and had my own leather craft store for a couple years. While operating the leather store, I taught many students in leatherwork. I also participated in the Headwaters Leather Guild. In 2003, I was laid off from my job of 19 years. The package offered to me allowed me to study boot making under Master Boot Maker DW Frommer II in Redmond, Oregon. I have been making boots by hand ever since. While I learned to sew boots on machines, I have only recently been able to purchase leather sewing machines that will reduce the time it takes to create shoes and boots without sacrificing quality.
