About the event

Nature can be the coolest thing! The way snow flakes are so unique and individual, just like your little ones' is amazing!

Your children will be making a number of lightcatchers and window hangs to reflect the beauty of the white fluffy stuff we see in our landscape during this winter season. Kids will be working with coffee filters/watercolor, cardboard/glue  and wire/beads to make their creations while they hear about how snowflakes are made.

These classes are geared toward ages 6-12. older kids are wellcome as well.

You can drop off the kiddos , while you go run errands or take a well deserved break (classes are 2 hours)  You can also stay if you wish to help your youngsters if you feel they might need it. If you wish to do your own little project along with them we ask that you purchase an additional ticket when you arrive to help cover those extra materials cost.

This programing is being partly funded by Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council to make these classes accessible and affordable for students as possible. We have 6 tickets set at $15 and then an additional 4 tickets that are Free scholarship  for those who need a helping hand.

"I have a passion for teaching and have experience being an MNSU instructor during grad school, where I taught Art100. I am no stranger to kids either, coming from a huge family I would often babysit my 13 nieces and nephews. I'm thrilled to be using my art skills and knowledge to support our community's youth, fostering creativity and curiosity about our natural world"

This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
