Note: You need to take the TRIMMING class within 2 WEEKS of throwing/building your work. Then your works will be bisque fired, at this time you will be notified that you should come in to Glaze your works.. the pieces then will be fired once more and you will be able to take them home. TRIMMING: This class will focus on finalizing the forms and carved decorative elements of your works. You will either be using the ceramic wheel to trim vessels made in a previous wheel throwing class OR add decorative carvings and underglazes to hand-built sculptures THEN come back to GLAZE: Once your work is bisque fired, you will come in to glaze your work. Glaze can serve to color, decorate or waterproof an item. Glazing renders earthenware vessels suitable for holding liquids, sealing the inherent porosity of unglazed biscuit earthenware. It also gives a tougher surface. NOTE: you may take this class as many times as you would like.
