Kids Class: Watercolor Exploration

Service Description

This class is the perfect fit for any young artist that is full of ideas and curiosity. By teaching unique effects used for watercolor painting kids will be able to understand how to work with watercolors and have a good foundation to their art making journey. Kids love the fun of trying ordinary things in unexpected ways! We will explore many materials and approaches, while also talking about color theory. We will use common things like plastic wrap, salt, paper towels, toothpicks, straws, stickers and q-tips to manipulate the effect of the watercolor paint. Giving kids permission to be experimental in art is so important and gives them the confidence of creating for the joy of it, without expecting a perfect prescribed project. To start the class we begin by trying all the different effects on small pages, and then move onto bigger individual paintings. Trying a bit of everything will let kids make their own choice and give them the foundation go forward creating boldly.
