This Course is Required for you to be allowed to use the ELEGOO Resin Printers independently at the Makerspace in the future. 2 Session Course THUR & FRI Class 7-8pm. Led by an experienced instructor, the class will delve into machine functionality, safety protocols, software utilization, printing processes, post-processing techniques, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Participants will gain valuable insights applicable to various 3D resin printers, enhancing their understanding and proficiency in this rapidly evolving technology. Session 1: Introduction to 3D Printing: -Understanding different 3D printing technologies. -Overview of resin-based 3D printing. -Comparison with FDM technology. Resin Printing Fundamentals: -Key components and operation of resin printers. -Types of resin and their applications. -Essential safety precautions and handling practices. Printer Setup and Calibration: -Initial setup procedures. -Calibration of exposure settings. -Basics of print bed leveling. Software Introduction: I-ntroduction to slicing software (Lychee). -File preparation and orientation. -Understanding support structures. Printing Process: -Loading files onto the printer. -Initiating and monitoring print jobs. -Troubleshooting common printing issues. Session 2: Post-Processing Techniques: -Removing prints from the build plate. -Cleaning excess resin. -UV curing process. Finishing and Polishing: -Surface smoothing and sanding techniques. -Painting and finishing methods. -Optional finishing steps. Maintenance and Care: -Routine maintenance procedures. -Proper storage of resin and printer components. -Troubleshooting hardware issues. Project Examples and Inspiration: -Showcase of diverse 3D printed objects and applications. -Encouragement of creativity and experimentation. -Provision of resources for further learning and community engagement. Exclusions: Model Creation: The class will not cover 3D modeling software or the creation of new models. Sourcing Models.

To Reschedule or Cancel please do so Via our website Mankatomakerspace.org By logging in to your account (or create an account using the email address which you put when signing up for the class) go to MY BOOKINGS and from there you can select the class and you can reschedule or cancel. Some classes are one time only and so will need to cancel. side note: please, consider your instructor and their time. many instructors prep for their class for hours to have things ready for you and some travel from a great distances as well.
