Woodshop 103: Wooden Cutting Board

Learn woodshop skills and make a beautiful and functional cutting board with Tyler.

Service Description

This course provides participants with the fundamental skills they need to function in a woodshop all while making a hardwood cutting board for their homes. Students will learn about tools such as the table saw, jointer, clamps, planer, sanders, and router table while preparing the lumber, gluing up, preparing the surface, profiling edges, and finishing the cutting board. Students will come to class on two week-nights to complete the project, with half of the work taking place during each session. Students should come to the class with closed-toe shoes and long pants. Avoid loose clothing, long sleeves, gloves, and loose jewelry. Class size: 5 age restrictions: 15 and up (15-17 with an adult) Class is taught by our Woodshop Lead Tyler Vaughan, if you have any questions about this class you can contact him here tjv14@hotmail.com. He has taught countless woodshop classes here at the space, including Loyola High School Woodshop since joining us as a shop lead back 2019.

Some classes are one time only and so will need to cancel. side note: please, consider your instructor and their time. many instructors prep for their class for hours to have things ready for you and some travel from a great distances as well.
